View transfer equivalencies

Lansing Community College welcomes transfer students. We may award transfer credit for coursework from accredited institutions of higher education and United States Military Service. Transfer credit may also be awarded for some AP and CLEP tests.

The College will try to award credit in courses equivalent to those which we offer, and when direct equivalencies are not available, elective credit in an appropriate academic subject will be awarded.

General requirements to receive transfer credit at Lansing Community College are:

  • Complete an application for admission to LCC (if you have never done so).

  • An official transcript must be mailed directly from your previous college to LCC. Military personnel should forward their DD295, DD214 or DANTES transcript to LCC.

  • Transfer credit must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

  • The course must be considered college level.

  • Only grades of 2.0 or higher are transferable.

  • Students may transfer in a maximum of 40 semester credit hours.

  • The American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendation will be used for all military training.

Official transcripts are mailed directly from your previous college to LCC. Please request your previous college(s) to send an official copy of your transcript to:

Upon receipt of your official transcript, LCC will evaluate the coursework, post credit equivalents as transfer credit on your LCC transcript, and mail you the results of the evaluation.
