Red Hat Linux Training with RHCSA / RHCE Certification

Red Hat Linux System Administration 4
Bootcamp for RHCSA/RHCE

This course is a VERY fast-paced, high-level review of material covering all possible objectives of the RHCSA and RHCE exam specific to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux latest version. This includes the standard file sharing services of Linux and Microsoft systems (NFS, FTP, SMB), advanced user administration, advanced disk and file system administration, as well as an introduction to configuring Internet services DHCP, DNS and HTTP (server and proxy) all with a heavy slant towards security configuration (firewall, SELinux and TCP-Wrappers).

Students will review configuring file space using partitions and advanced partitioning services like RAID and LVM, installing and configuring software, basic networking services, log management, service startup management, process control, backup concepts, and general desktop configuration for a workstation on a local area network, as well as tips for troubleshooting a misconfigured system at bootup and misconfigured services.

The objective of this class is to help attendees develop significant technical abilities in just a few days and specifically to prepare for the RHCE exam. This course is more effective in developing the required skills than months of on-the-job training and individual study.

Prerequisites:
LAN fundamentals or equivalent; Internetworking with TCP/IP or equivalent. 2+ months of solid hands-on experience managing any other type of system is also ideal.

Students must already have excellent knowledge of administration of Linux hosts and extensive experience with standard commands and utilities within a UNIX/Linux command line interface (as per SA2 and SA3 courses). This course builds on these skills by focusing and building on the many concepts used within a Linux or UNIX environment to administer Internet facing services securely.

NOTE: This is NOT the starting point for anyone new to Linux or UNIX. Students MUST already be close to ready for the exam. This course will quickly review all required topics related to the exam objectives. Significant experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux is absolutely necessary.

Duration: Four days (32 hours)

Audience: Anyone almost ready for RHCE and wanting to clarify their understanding of administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or any Linux-based) servers and workstations that are directly connected or closely associated with the Internet. The coverage is fast and intense.
