CURRICULAR GUIDE
Child Development
Associate in Applied Science
Curriculum Code: 0108 (Effective Fall 2000 - Summer 2005)
This degree program prepares individuals to work in child care as a teacher,
teacher assistant, or program director. Students learn to plan and implement
high quality, developmentally appropriate programs for all ages of children,
infants through school-age, in both centers and family child care homes.
Graduates of the associate degree program meet the educational requirements
for child care center program directors as specified by the State of Michigan
Child Day Care Center Licensing Regulations. The program involves several
semesters of daytime field work in child care settings. Not all courses in
this program transfer to all colleges. Students planning to transfer should
see an academic advisor or counselor before enrolling in any course.
