LANSING COMMUNITY COLLEGE
CURRICULUM GUIDE
Microcomp Database Specialist
Associate in Business Degree
Curriculum Code: 0922 (Effective Fall 2003 - Summer 2008)
As the Information Age matures, decisions at all levels of an organization are
based upon relevant information. Organizations seek specialists who can plan for
and accomplish the acquisition and retrieval of needed information. These
specialists must be able to determine information requirements of users; use
technology systems and processes to devise means through which to gather and sort
needed information; and implement effective solutions for reporting necessary
information using industry-standard database tools. Even in large organizations,
these solutions frequently involve the use of microcomputers to create the
required input screens or output reports. Data for these systems can come from
a networked and/or stand-alone environment. Not all courses in this program
transfer to all colleges. Students planning to transfer should see an academic
advisor or counselor before enrolling in any course.
PREREQUISITES
Students should see Course Descriptions or Course Offerings for course
