The Medical Office Administration Program prepares students to
work as a member of administrative support staff in hospitals,
medical centers, medical clinics, insurance companies, managed
care organizations, and other private and public sector
healthcare settings. The Medical Office Administration Associate
in Business degree builds on the course work in the Certificate
of Achievement and enhances a student's employment opportunities
in this field. The Medical Administrative Assistant is a
specialist in the healthcare profession. Medical administrative
assistants facilitate the work of physicians, researchers, and
other health team professionals by managing health information,
transcribing medical dictation, coding and billing for medical
procedures, scheduling appointments and procedures, and
arranging patient hospitalizations. Not all courses in this
program transfer to all colleges. Students planning to
transfer should see an academic advisor or counselor before
enrolling in any course. |
