Are you A+ or B-? Maybe AB or O? We're not talking about the grade on your last math test, we're talking about your blood type! In this class we will go explore your blood and learn about the function of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. What do normal red blood cells do and what happens if they are not shaped correctly (sickle cell anemia)? Why are there so many different types of white blood cells? How do these white blood cells protect you from disease? How can platelets seal off a cut and keep you from bleeding too much? Blood doesn't look very complex until you look at it under the microscope and see how many things make up this important part of your body.
