2012 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient- Michael P. Gannon '73
The Lansing Community College Alumni
Association has selected Michael P. Gannon as the recipient of the Distinguished
Alumni of the Year Award for 2012. Gannon is Senior Vice President & Chief
Strategic & Human Resource Officer for Nexteer Automotive Corporation in
Saginaw, Michigan.
Gannon received his Associate Degree from Lansing Community College in 1973,
graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his Bachelor Degree from Kettering
University and MBA from The University of Michigan.
Michael is the son of LCC’s Founding President Philip Gannon and Lois Gannon,
one of three of the Gannon children to attend Lansing Community College.

LCC Distinguished Alumni Award
The LCC Distinguished Alumni Award has been established for the purpose of honoring an outstanding alumnus who has made contributions to career and community. Awards are made based on distinction in nominee's field and community service.
Award Criteria:
- Nominee shall have completed at least 30 credit hours or received an Associate Degree from Lansing Community College.
- Distinction in nominee's field as evidenced by achievement in career, earned degrees or professional training, professional recognition and/or outstanding contributions to the field of endeavor.
- Demonstration of service to community through participation in public, private, civic, fraternal, religious, etc.
- Nominee must be able to attend LCC's commencement on May 18, 2012 and award reception at a later date.
