Mark Cosgrove began his aviation career in 1975 as an Army helicopter mechanic. He served as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and aircraft maintenance supervisor for several years before attending military flight school. During his 33 year military career he functioned as an aircraft mechanic, attack helicopter pilot, helicopter instructor pilot, a staff officer as well as a company and aviation battalion commander. Mark was posted to several different installations during his career and made numerous trips to Eastern Europe to assist in training foreign military personnel. His last military assignment was as the Michigan National Guard's Chief of the Joint Staff. Mark is also an experienced civilian flight instructor in airplanes and helicopters. Since January of 2011, he has been at the helm of the Aviation Technology program at Lansing Community College. During his free time, Mark enjoys flying his 1940 Luscombe airplane.
