Lansing Business & Industry Archives

The Lansing Business & Industry Archives (LBIA) has been created to house a growing collection of items related to the early days of business and industry in the Lansing area. The collection currently includes items from the turn of the 20th century and focuses on businesses located in downtown Lansing and on memorabilia from the REO Motor Car Company.

Usage Tips

• Make sure your hands are clean.
• Keep the material in the protective envelopes.
• Marks should not be added to or removed from the material. Only use pencils for your personal notes.
• Refrain from eating or drinking when using the Archives.
• Keep the material flat on the table and do not place things on top of the material.
• Ask for assistance if you would like to make a photocopy of the material.

Accessing the Archives

Use of the Archives is by appointment only. Appointments may be made Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 517-483-1663 or 517-483-1647.

In order to provide a secure environment, the archive material must remain in the Collection Services or the Department Office.
