Library Catalog

Multimedia available for checkout is located on the 3rd floor of the Library.

Find multimedia in the Library Catalog by selecting type of media (e.g. Video, Spoken Recordings, Music Recordings) from the dropdown menu next to the search box.

You can also search the Entire Catalog and then browse the list of results for the following icons.

Research Databases

Many research databases contain multimedia. Often you can click on a tab in the database to narrow your search to multimedia content.

Below are recommendations for the best places to start if you are looking for a specific type of multimedia. However, other databases also contain multimedia.

My instructor sent me to the Library to watch a movie for class. Where do I find it?

The video might be available in two places in the Library:

Multimedia Desk

Follow the steps below to find the video number and check out a room to watch the video in the Library:

  1. Use the number provided by your instructor or browse the list of AMX videos pdf file available through the Media Services Department.
  2. Write down the number of the video you would like to view and bring it to the Library Multimedia desk.
  3. Book a multimedia room to watch the video.

Media Services videos can be viewed in the Library:

Fall & Spring Hours
Monday - Thursday: 8am - 9pm
Friday: 8am - 4pm
Saturday: 10am - 1pm

Summer Hours
Monday - Thursday: 8am - 8pm
Friday: 8am - 12pm

Checkout Desk

Follow the steps below to find the call number for the video on course reserve and bring it to the Checkout Desk.

  1. Find the call number for the video in the Library Catalog.
  2. Bring the call number (i.e. DVD1200-122) to the staff at the Checkout Desk along with your Starcard.

Where can I watch multimedia in the Library?

Multimedia Rooms are available with computers that can play DVDs or CDs, televisions connected to LCC's AMX media system, and VCRs.

Can I check out headphones to watch a video on a library computer?

Headphones are available for checkout at the Multimedia Desk on the 2nd floor of the library.


Films on Demand

Films on Demand provides online access to educational videos on a variety subjects.

Watch videos on your computer or embedded in faculty Desire2Learn accounts. Create and share video clips, playlists, and folders.
