How can I check out a Kindle?

To checkout a Kindle please bring you StarCard or Driver's License to the Checkout Desk in the library on the 2nd floor of the TLC building. You will be asked to complete and sign a brief borrower's agreement which describes the rules for borrowing the Kindle. After that, you're ready to start reading.

How long can I use it?

Kindles are available for 28 day checkout with no renewals.

What books are available on the Kindles?

Each Kindle has three different content types available for you.

  • Genre - works of Fantasy, Mystery, Romance and Science Fiction
  • Fiction - works of contemporary Fiction
  • Non-Fiction - works of Non-Fiction

You can see what is on all of the Kindles by selecting on the title or by browsing to the right.

What if I want to read something else on the Kindle?

If you want to download other materials to the Kindle you will have to register the Kindle with your personal Amazon account.

If you choose to register the Kindle to your personal account then you will be unable to access the Library's content.

For more information on how to register a Kindle, please visit Amazon's Kindle Support.

Where do I return the Kindle?

Do not return the Kindle to the library dropbox, as it could result in the Kindle being damaged by other items. There is a $15.00 fine if a Kindle is returned to the library dropbox and you are responsible for any resulting damage to the Kindle.
