A+ Summer Youth Police Academy

Instructor: Frank Medrano
Do you know what it takes to be a Police Officer? This is a course rich in the study of the law relating to police procedures and public safety. Students will achieve personal pride and discipline through this course with a maximum of hands-on experience, physical activity and real life observation and participation in the criminal justice system.
Activities include: K-9 demonstration, handcuffing exercises, finger printing and evidence collection, arrest reenactment and obstacle course cadet training exercises.
A field trip to the Lansing Police Lock Up Facility, 54A District Court for an arraignment and visit to the Michigan Supreme Court Building will show students an actual court proceeding before a judge and the consequences facing individuals who break our laws.
Based on the LCC Adult Police Academy classes students will be physically active and engage in many aspects of authentic police training.

A+ Summer Youth EMS/Rescue Academy

Instructor: Rodney VanDeCasteele
When tragedy strikes the trained professionals of the Emergency Medical Service respond with swift life saving knowledge. The EMS/Rescue Academy will show you what it takes to train and serve in crisis situations as a first responder.
Students will participate in emergency medical training, triage and staged "real life" emergency situations.
There will be a hands-on activity in coordination with the Youth Police Academy with a vehicle crash situation and actors as victims.

Circuit Training for Young Athletes

The emphasis for this camp will focus on fundamentals of circuit training and conditioning. Students will get the chance to participate in both conditioning and in-class instruction on safety and basics of strength training. Whether you are training for a specific sport, or looking to make strength gains and improve self-esteem, this class is designed for all fitness levels and every body! Each participant will receive a Camp T-shirt.
Participants should bring gym clothes, athletic shoes, and a water bottle. *Please NO tank tops

Volleyball Camps

Get a great start in learning volleyball skills with this camp designed for beginning and intermediate players. Emphasis will be on fundamental body position, footwork of defensive and offensive skills, passing, setting, serving, and spiking. Players get multiple opportunities to work on these skills daily. Camp T-shirt and ball will be included.

Specialty Skills - LCC Volleyball

This camp session will cover passing, serving, spiking, along with serve receive drills while working on body position and movements skills associated with the game of volleyball. At the end of each session, groups will work together to utilize their skills in group drills and competition. Expectations on the drills and concepts are more demanding in this session. Camp T-shirt and ball will be included.
