Workforce Preparation Lansing Community College hosts a keynote presentation by Willard R.
Daggett, Ed.D., President, International Center for Leadership in
Education, on "Workforce Preparation in the New Economy." |
Students as well as the current workforce must continue to
develop the skills and knowledge they need to complete successfully in
our increasingly technologically-driven, global world. Dr. Daggett will
lay out the challenges all sectors of society face in preparing today's
workforce and the millennial generation for the world in which we now
live. He will then recommend a series of actions that education and
business leaders can take to prepare students and workers for success in
the immediate years ahead.
Dr. Daggett is recognized worldwide for his proven ability to
move education systems towards more rigorous and relevant skills and
knowledge for all students. He has assisted a number of states and
hundreds of school districts with their school improvement initiatives.
He also has collaborated with education ministries in several countries
and with the Council of Chief State School Officers, the Bill and
Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Governors Association, the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, and many other national organizations. Prior to
founding the International Center for Leadership in Education in 1991,
Dr. Daggett was a teacher and administrator at the secondary and
postsecondary levels and a director with the New York State Education
Department.
