3 Things You Need to Know Before Registering
Wouldn't it be great to have a place where you could receive all of your financial aid and student account information and alerts? A place where you can find out what's going on around campus? A place that would inform you of parking and traffic notices so you aren't late to class? There is - your LCC student e-mail account! Your student e-mail account is a gateway to all the information you need to have a successful experience at LCC.
Whether you are a new student, a returning student or even a guest from another university, it is imperative that you get in the habit of checking your LCC student e-mail account regularly. There you will receive information such as:
- Alerts when a new bill has been posted to your student account
- Financial aid account information
- Campus closures
- Student policy changes
- Changes to the academic calendar
- Information on campus/community events
- Information from your program of study
- Traffic/parking notices
- Bi-weekly student e-newsletter
Log into your Student E-mail Account
If you are unfamiliar with your LCC student e-mail account, visit www.lcc.edu/helpdesk/student_email/ for a step-by-step guide to getting started.
All LCC students are required to:
- Pay tuition and fees in full, or
- Sign up for the FACTS Installment Payment Plan, or
- Sign up for the FACTS Pending Aid Payment Plan (available to financial aid recipients), or
- Submit Third Party Authorization (If an employer, high school or agency is sponsoring a student's education. This does not include financial aid.)
Students who do not complete one of the above options by their payment due date will be dropped from classes for non-payment. Payment due dates are based upon the day a student registers. Payments are due by the due date listed on the student bill. Student bills will be available to view in Banner Student Self Service. Each time a new bill is generated, students will be notified through their LCC Student E-mail account.
About the FACTS Payment Plan
The FACTS monthly payment plan helps students manage their educational expenses. This is not a loan program. Students have no accumulated debt, no interest or finance charges are assessed, and no credit check is required. The cost to participate in the payment plan is $25 per semester, (plus a credit card convenience charge if you use a credit card).
Students choosing to participate in the plan pay for tuition and fees by authorizing either a monthly automatic bank deduction or monthly credit/debit card payment (MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). Once the plan is activated, FACTS will automatically withdraw a payment on the fifth of each month from the designated account or credit card. Any required down payments are withdrawn immediately from the specified account.

A safer way to receive your refunds.
LCC is partnering with Higher One to offer students a faster and more secure way to receive financial aid and other LCC refunds.
The debit card is provided automatically to most LCC students in partnership with Higher One, a financial services company focused solely on bringing college students a new method for receiving refunds. The Lansing CC Debit Card is a student's key to choosing how any LCC refunds are to be received.
New students should receive their Lansing CC Debit Card in the mail within 1 - 2 weeks after registering for classes. After receiving the card, students must activate their refund preference. (Do not throw this card away! Activating your refund preference as soon as the card arrives will help ensure that any refunds due to you will be issued in a timely manner.) During the refund activation process, students will visit www.lansingccdebitcard.com and choose one of the following options for receiving their refund money:
Direct deposit to a Higher One checking account.
TThe Lansing CC Debit Card comes with the option to open the OneAccount, a free debit checking account provided to students through Higher One. Choosing Easy Refund into the OneAccount is the fastest option to receiving your refund (about one business day after the refund is posted to the student's account).
Deposit to another bank of the student's choice
via ACH transfer. This option will result in a refund approximately 2 - 3 business days after the refund is posted to the student's account.
(Please note: If a student does not select one of these options, refunds will be issued in the form of a paper check mailed to the student. The check will be mailed 21 days after the refund is posted to the student's account.)
