
Youth Programs - Life, Physical, Earth & Space Science for Grades 3-6
Science Education Center & Lansing Community College in partnership with and funding support from the Capital Area Science and Math Center announces the ALL NEW INQUIRY-BASED, CONNECTING THEMES WORKSHOPS.
This Professional Development Program is intended to aid in the implementation of Science Curricula in local districts. These standards-based workshops feature constructivist teaching techniques, embedded assessment strategies and the use of technology in the classroom for Upper Elementary teachers and students. The focus of these workshops will be connecting themes in science.
Each workshop will address 5th grade Science MEAP topics.

Each presentation focuses on content and process-oriented science for upper
elementary students. Each participating teacher will receive science equipment
related to the investigations. Each participant will receive classroom-ready
science investigations relevant to upper elementary students. Every activity
will be related to the Michigan Curriculum Framework. Each activity will include
embedded assessment. Each presentation will include a technology component.
