"Live Green" When Out of Office for an Extended Period of Time
Before we leave for a long weekend, holiday or semester break there are a few things that each of us can do.
- If an item is plugged into a wall outlet - unplug it. Even if a device is turned off, it is still drawing electricity. This includes lamps, computers, monitors, fans, radios, etc. Copiers and faxes need to remain plugged in. They will go into a hibernation mode.
- Turn off office and conference room lights.
- Close doors to offices.
- Place materials in recycling bins.
- Report dripping faucets to Physical Plant x1808.
