NOTES:
1. This transfer guide supports an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Madonna University that facilitates the
transfer of RN Nursing students into the BSN Completion Program at Madonna. An
option is offered to take many of the theory portion of the nursing courses
on-line. There are also increasing opportunities to take some of the general
education courses on-line or by other distance learning modalities. This
agreement does not have a specified expiration date.
2. A maximum of 74 credits may be transferred to Madonna from community colleges,
plus the additional Prior Learning Credits (including Med/Surg. OB/Peds,
Psyc/Mental Health, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Nutrition based
on RN Licensure). All Prior Learning Credits granted to a student based on
RN Licensure will be placed on the student's transcript after he/she has
earned 12 credits at Madonna University. A minimum of 30 credits of the
124-credit total required for the BSN degree must be earned by taking Madonna
University courses.
3. To begin Nursing courses, students are also required to complete the language
and culture requirements in addition to completing the LCC equivalents to
ENG 101 and 102, both psychology courses, sociology, all biology, chemistry,
math, and nutrition courses. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of
2.50. Applicants who do not meet admissions criteria are encouraged to contact
the Degree Completion Coordinator (listed at the bottom of this guide) to
discuss alternate ways to fulfill these requirements.
4. PHIL 151 or higher may be taken to fulfill the Philosophy requirement.
5. RELG 211 or higher may be taken to fulfill the Religion requirement.
6. Based upon RN licensure, 31 credits of Nursing and 4 credits of General and
Therapeutic Nutrition may be transferred to Madonna as Prior Learning Credit.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduations
requirements. See the LCC online catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for
details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
