NOTES:
1. This transfer guide supports an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Ferris State University (Ferris). This
facilitates the transfer of LCC students, who have completed or will complete
an LCC associate degree, to the Ferris Bachelor of Science - Business
Administration Professional Track (BAPT) program. This articulated agreement
expires on September 15, 2014.
2. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for appropriate LCC courses. Final
responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the student.
3. Students transferring to Ferris must complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement
with the MACRAO Stamp on their transcripts and a 2.50 cumulative GPA prior
to transferring OR meet the FSU General Education Requirements with a 2.35
cumulative GPA.
4. The MACRAO Transfer Agreement applies only to students entering bachelor
degree programs at FSU, pertains solely to general education, and does
not exempt students from meeting specific prerequisite and/or course
requirements for their degree. Only courses with a grade of "C" (2.0)
or better will transfer.
5. Students transferring to Ferris State University with MACRAO will have
met the lower-division general education communication competency;
scientific understanding; cultural enrichment; social awareness; race,
ethnicity, and gender; and global awareness requirements. In order to
complete the general education requirements for a bachelor's degree,
students with MACRAO must still complete math proficiency and upper-
level communication competency requirements.
6. Many degrees require specific courses and prerequisite courses that also
count for FSU's general education requirements. Because these specific
courses are required for the degree, they must be taken even if a
student has sufficient coursework to complete the MACRAO agreement.
7. Students are advised to meet with a Ferris advisor (see below) by the time
they earn 48 transferable credits.
8. This program is not designed for students with a Liberal Arts or General
Associate degree. It is designed for those students with an associate degree
in a specialized occupational area, and is ideal for students with back-
grounds in areas such as manufacturing technology, construction technology
or any other area of specialization.
9. Admission requirements for transfer students:
a. To be considered for Financial Aid from Ferris, students must have earned
an associate degree or have earned 48 transferable credit hours.
b. Students must have a 2.35 GPA or better in all transfer courses.
10. Graduation requirements for transfer students:
a. A minimum of 120/121 credit hours must be completed.
b. Must obtain Associate Degree in Occupational Area.
c. Complete at least 30 credit hours with Ferris State University.
d. 2.0 cumulative GPA; 2.0 GPA in Business and Major Cores.
e. Even with the MACRAO stamp, at least 48 credits of General Education
course work must be completed.
f. Must earn at least 40 credits at 300/400 level.
11. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
12. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
