NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents the Articulation (partnership) Agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Western Michigan University
(WMU). Completion of the courses listed on this guide will meet the
requirements for the LCC Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with the
MACRAO endorsement. This articulated agreement does not have a specified
expiration date.
2. For admission to the Professional Elementary Education Program at WMU
students completing the LCC courses listed on this guide must also meet the
following requirements:
a. Earn a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or better.
b. Earn passing scores on the Michigan test for Teacher Certification (MTTC)
Basic Skills section.
c. Completion of a LiveScan background check.
d. Submit a WMU College of Education admissions application (available at
http://www.wmich.edu/coe/admissions/admission-requirements.htm.
3. Must complete both EDUC 201 and 226 to receive WMU credit.
4. Students must select two additional minors chosen from: Social Studies,
Language Arts, Math or Science. HIST 211 and 212 apply toward the Social
Studies minor; ENGL/WRIT 122 apply toward the Language Arts minor.
ENGL 208 or 260 apply toward the Language Arts minor.
5. Students seeking a science minor should take ASTR 201 and CHEM 151 and 161.
6. Two semester credits of health and well-being courses are required for
graduation from WMU. Select from PFFT 114 or PFHW 163.
7. Students may take one additional course toward chosen minor: Social Science
minor - HIST 111/112 and GEOG 202; Science minor - ASTR 201 or CHEM 151&161.
8. Students wishing to earn an LCC Associate Degree in Elementary Education
must also take EDUC 201 and SOCL 120.
9. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
10. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
