NOTES:
1. This transfer guide supports an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Ferris State University (Ferris). This is
designed as a Bachelor of Science Degree option for LCC students who have
completed or are in the process of completing an Associate of Arts Degree in
Child Development and Early Education and who plan to transfer to Big Rapids.
Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 with a 2.75 in all CHDV courses.
This articulated agreement expires October 15, 2013.
2.  See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for appropriate LCC courses.  Final
responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the student.
3. Students must complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement with the MACRAO Stamp
on their transcripts and a 2.50 cumulative GPA prior to transferring or meet
the Ferris General Education Requirements with a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students
with the MACRAO Stamp will be required to complete a 300-Level Advanced
    English course at Ferris.
4.  The MACRAO Transfer Agreement applies only to students entering bachelor
degree programs at FSU, pertains solely to general education, and does
not exempt students from meeting specific prerequisite and/or course
requirements for their degree.  Only courses with a grade of "C" (2.0)
    or better will transfer.
5.  Students transferring to Ferris State University with MACRAO will have
    met the lower-division general education communication competency;
scientific understanding; cultural enrichment; social awareness; race,
ethnicity, and gender; and global awareness requirements. In order to
complete the general education requirements for a bachelor's degree,
students with MACRAO must still complete math proficiency and upper-
    level communication competency requirements.
6.  Many degrees require specific courses and prerequisite courses that also
count for FSU's general education requirements.  Because these specific
courses are required for the degree, they must be taken even if a
student has sufficient coursework to complete the MACRAO agreement.
7. Early Childhood Education BS degree program admissions requirements:
    a. Students must have at least 48 transferable credits or have completed the
associate degree in Child Development and Early Education.
    b. A 2.5 overall GPA is required for admission. Official college transcripts
must be submitted at time of application for admission.
    c. Completion of MATH 112, and WRIT/ENGL 122 or WRIT 132 with a 2.0 (C) or
       better.
8. SPCH 110 or 120 is required for the LCC Core but does not meet the Ferris
Communication Competency requirement; SPCH 130 meets both LCC Core and the
    Ferris Communication Competency.
9. Students may substitute with WRIT 131 and 132.
10. Select one option. The remaining required credits to fulfill the selected
option will be completed at Ferris.
11. Select 3 credits from MGMT 225 - Principles of Management/Leadership or
MGMT 300 - Leading for Possibility.
12. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements.  See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
13. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration.  For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
