NOTES:
1.  This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement that
    facilitates the transfer of Lansing Community College (LCC) students to 
    Ferris State University's (Ferris) Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary 
    Education. This guide is not intended to be a contract with Ferris. The 
    information is subject to change. Final responsibility for verifying all 
    transfer information lies with the student. This articulated agreement will
    expire August 14, 2014. 
2.  Admissions Requirements to Ferris:  Students applying to the program must 
    meet these requirements prior to admission:
    a. Complete a minimum of 48 transferable credits or an associate degree.  
    b. Have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA in their prior coursework.  Official 
       transcripts must be submitted at the time of application.
    c. Completion of the following courses with a 2.0 of better:  MATH 112; 
       WRIT/ENGL 122/132. Language Arts Minors must have a 3.0 or better in 
       WRIT 121/131 and WRIT/ENGL 122/132. 
    d. Successful completion of all three subsections of the Michigan Test of
       Teacher Certification (MTTC) - Basic Skills Test.  Information can be 
       found online at www.mttc.nesinc.com. 
    e. Identified two minors in addition to the planned program, professional 
       educational education course sequence.  Optional Early Childhood minor
       should be identified as soon as possible. 
    f. Cohort will begin after EDUC 204 and PSYC 205 are complete. Students in 
       Early Childhood should substitute CDHV 101 & 222 for PHYS 205.  
3.  Admissions Requirements to Level II Teacher Education Coursework:
    a. Prior to taking any Ferris courses in the Professional Sequence, students 
       must also complete a Level II Application, which includes items such as 
       DHS clearance form and felony conviction form, a professional disposition
       statement, and an agreement to become certified in First Aid and CPR.
    b. Prior to enrolling in Level II classes (EDUC 220,230,226), all students in
       teacher education programs must pass all sections of the state-mandated 
       Basic Skills Test (see Note 2d).  
4.  Students may select two of the available three teaching minors listed under 
    Choice 5 of this transfer guide. 
    a. Mathematics Minor requires a 2.75 GPA with no grade lower than a 2.0; 
    b. Language Arts Minor requires a 3.0 GPA with no grade lower than a 2.0.  
       Students must have a 3.0 or better in WRIT 121/131 and WRIT/ENGL 122/132.
    c. Early Childhood Minor is an optional third minor which requires a 2.50 GPA 
       with no grade lower than a 2.0.  Students pursuing a ZA endorsement (see
       LCC transfer guide 1460) must complete this minor in addition to the other 
       two teaching minors.  
5.  Requirements ART 240 and MUSC 200 should not be taken if the Early Childhood
    minor is chosen.    
6.  Students may substitute with WRIT 131 and 132.
7.  A 3.0 GPA or better is required in BIOL 145 or 229.
8.  Students earning the ZA endorsement are not required to take PSYC 205, but 
    must take CDHV 101 and 222.  
9.  MATH 120 is the recommended prerequisite for MATH 141.   
10. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
    requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
11. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and 
    writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the 
    Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
