1. This transfer guide supports an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Ferris State University (Ferris), which
facilitates the transfer of LCC credits to the Ferris Bachelor of Science in
Dental Hygiene. This articulated agreement does not have a specified
expiration date.
2. Students must have an AAS degree in Dental Hygiene and a valid RDH or LDH
license for admission into the program.
3. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for appropriate LCC course options. Final
responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the student.
4. Students transferring to Ferris may complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement.
Ferris honors the MACRAO stamp on an official transcript as fulfilling lower
level general education courses that are not programmatic or prerequisite
requirements. A 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for admission into the
program, with a 2.0 or better grade required for course transfer.
5. Students must meet FSU General Education requirements for a Bachelor of
Science degree delineated on the FSU General Education website. This includes
one global consciousness and one race/ethnicity/gender course. Learn more at
http://www.ferris.edu/htmls/academics/gened/courses.html. To determine how
courses will transfer to Ferris, check the transfer equivalency grid online
at http://www.ferris.edu/admissions/Transfer/WebPages/homepage1.cfm.
6. Students must earn 40 credit hours at the upper level (300/400 level) to
graduate, with a minimum of 30 credits completed through Ferris. The BS in
Dental Hygiene requires a minimum total of 122 credits and a 2.00 cumulative
GPA required in the major and overall for graduation at Ferris.
7. One humanities (Cultural Enrichment at Ferris) must be at a 200 level or
higher.
8. One science course must include a lab.
9. One social sciences (Social Awareness at Ferris) must be at a 200 level or
higher.
10. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
11. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
