NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Agreement between Lansing Community College
(LCC) and Michigan State University (MSU). Students enrolled in the LCC
Nursing, RN Option (ADN) program are eligible to apply for transfer admission
to the MSU on-line Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for Registered
Nurses (RN-BSN). This agreement will be reviewed in 2015.
2. A maximum of 60 semester credits may be transferred from LCC to MSU. An
additional 30 semester credits will be granted by MSU for successful comple-
tion of the RN licensing exam. Students will complete 32 credits for the
RN to BSN program at MSU.
3. MSU Admissions Requirements:
a) Students must apply for admissions to MSU and complete the College of
Nursing supplemental application form. It is recommended that students
apply during the first semester they are enrolled in the ADN program.
b) Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and earn a 2.00 or
higher in each science prerequisite course or its equivalent. Admission to
the program is competitive; the most qualified candidates will be selected
from the pool of candidates meeting the minimum criteria.
c) Students must complete the equivalent of MSU's transfer admission writing
and mathematics requirements. See MSU Transfer Admissions Criteria.

4. LCC students admitted to the MSU RN-BSN program will enroll in two summer
sessions at MSU while simultaneously completing the LCC ADN program. Students
will be required to register and pay fees at each respective institution when
concurrently enrolled.
5. Students will be eligible to continued enrollment in the MSU RN-BSN program
upon graduation from the LCC ADN program and the successful completion of all
other MSU RN-BSN program prerequisites including, but not limited to:
a) Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher at graduation from LCC ADN program;
b) 2.00 or higher in each science prerequisite course;
c) completion of all other prerequisite coursework;
d) an active, unrestricted RN licence;
e) background check;
f) drug screening.
6. LCC students admitted to the RN-BSN program and enrolled at MSU will be
granted those privileges and accesses provided to all enrolled MSU students
including housing, commuter parking, libraries, student organizations,
athletic facilities and tickets, etc. Students will be expected to abide by
the rules and regulations of both institutions.
7. Students will be required, as a condition of admission to the Program, to
agree that their educational records as defined by the Family Education
Rights and Privacy Act and its implementing regulations may be disclosed by
MSU and LCC to each other.
8. Students make substitute ENGL 122 or ENGL/WRIT 132 for WRIT 122.
9. Select 4 credits from a transferable course in one of the following subject
areas: HUMS, MUSC, PHIL or RELG.
10. Students are strongly encouraged to complete NCHE 102 - CPR for Health Care
Professionals prior to transfer.
11. Students should select elective credits with assistance from the MSU
Advisor listed below.
12. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC online catalog online for details.
13. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
