November 7th, 2008
This week started off miserably. I happened to catch a cold
over the weekend. The homework/class work doesn’t stop just because I ended up
with a cold. I was fortunate enough to have a doctors appointment on Tuesday,
and with some suggestions from the doc, I acquired one of the best cold
medicines ever (Mucinex). So time to just suck it up, deal with it, and do the
best I can.
One thing that has been absolutely fantastic is the weather. Can you believe it 70 degrees in November? I love it. That brings me to the real important issue for the week. It started with this darn cold, which made me feel blah! So I decided to take some of my homework and head over to Hawk Hollow Park.
Going there was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. Getting away from the school/academic environment was truly awesome. It was very peaceful and extremely productive. I did take my usual breaks, if some of you know 50 minutes of study, 10 or 15 minutes of a break. This system works well, and Tuesday and Wednesday were some of the most productive days of study since I started coming back to school.
Oh yea I’ve
tried different places to study such as M.S.U. Library, some different coffee
shops/restaurants but that time at the park was just what I needed, battling a
cold and trying to find some motivation to keep plugging away at some of the
necessary homework. As a matter of fact it was so nice I decided to go to
another park on Friday. Which is were I’m at right now. Sharp Park, behind the
Lansing Mall is also quite nice. It’s turned out to be a very positive week,
even having this cold.
It seems
fitting in closing to end this on a positive note. Thanks again for allowing me
to share.
