Atlanta University Center Colleges Sister College Program

Lansing Community College (LCC) and the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Colleges (Clark Atlanta, Morehouse, Morehouse School of Medicine and Spelman), have a sister college agreement designed to prepare students for a four-year institution through a monitored academic transfer program. Eligible students participate in a comprehensive program which facilitates transfer of credits from LCC to one of the Atlanta University College's specialized program areas.

The Sister College Program

The Sister College Program provides a cost efficient tuition arrangement with LCC tuition the first two years and AUC tuition for the remaining academic years.  The program's structure enhances academic and social maturity prior to transferring to a four year institution.  Students are assigned to the LCC AUC counselor who monitors their academic progress and provides educational, career and personal counseling to enhance academic success.  Each of the historically Black colleges involved in the program have a diverse staff and faculty with a predominantly African-American student population. Each college emphasizes academic, cultural, and spiritual development.

Students interested in the Sister College Program must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a high school graduate or graduating high school student
  • Maintain good academic standing at LCC
  • Have an interest in attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)

Students should be aware that each of the participating colleges have varying admissions and institutional requirements.
