LCC Women's Network

The LCC Women's Network is an LCC Chapter of the American Council on Education Michigan Women's Network (MI-ACE). It strives to connect the women of Lansing Community College with each other and the resources that will help them reach their professional goals.

Greetings, and thank you for visiting our page. Below are a few highlights from this past academic year:

In September, Tonya C. Bailey guided us through an interactive session entitled - "The Power of Influence and Persuasion in Leadership." Tonya had us up and moving around the room, and working together to develop the mindset needed to pursue the things that are important to each of us.

In February, panelists, Joan Bauer, Toni Glasscoe, and Kali Majumdar talked about the challenges and life lessons learned throughout their careers. Their stories, both the struggles and triumphs resonated with the participants, as we called upon them to share their experiences.

Lastly, in April, we got together to host an awareness event in the Gannon Commons – "Paint the Commons Red!" This event was attended, and speeches were provided by Board of Trustee Members, Board Chairman, Andrew P. Abood, Secretary, Angela L. Mathews, and Trustee Robin M. Smith. All LCC faculty, staff and students were invited to attend. Equal Pay Day symbolizes how far into 2017 women have to work to make as much as men did in 2016. Featured above. We had a great time getting together and sharing our support for one another.

Please enjoy these summer months, and know that the LCC ACE Planning Committee is diligently organizing next year's lineup.

See you in the Fall!
