Bio
The LCC ACE Women's Network will hold its annual Equal Pay Day event 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, via Webex. U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin will offer keynote remarks, and take time to answer our questions related to equal pay.
On average, women working full-time in the U.S. are paid 82 cents for every dollar paid to men. This gap persists across sectors and education levels. It increases for women of color - Black women are paid 63 cents for every dollar paid to men, Native American women are paid 60 cents, and Hispanic women are paid 55 cents.
Equal Pay Day is dedicated to awareness, symbolizing how far into 2021 the average U.S. woman has to work to make as much as men did in 2020. This year, it falls on March 24, and we will hold our event recognizing Equal Pay Day on March 31.
